On the scalp, only 90% of the hair grows, while the other 10% rest. It’s absolutely normal to lose about 100 hairs daily, from the scalp. The hair is very strong and can be compared to a thin iron rod. One requires at least 60kgs of weight to break the strand of hair.
It is a known fact that men bald earlier than women, and one has to loose more than half of their hair, before it is visible to others. Humidity stretches the hair, making it breakable and brittle, while hair grows faster during summer. Most men loose their hair; by the time they are in their 50’s, while women start loosing their hair when they reach menopause. Research has proved that losing excessive hair or baldness is hereditary. People should be aware that combing or brushing wet hair, leads to severe hair loss. However combing is not as damaging as brushing is. The right choice of shampoo can reduce hair loss, dryness and split ends have to be cut, as they cannot be repaired.
Many believe that frequent washing of the hair, increases hair loss and regular cutting of the hair increases the growth of the hair, which are both inaccurate and false.
